Event Brief

In the early days, the basic philosophy of maintenance was to replace aircraft components or conduct aircraft overhaul at a specific time. The driving principles behind this philosophy have often resulted in high maintenance costs and undesired aircrafts unavailability.

Increasingly, militaries and the aviation industry is moving towards adopting the Maintenance Steering Group - 3 (MSG-3) approach, to better manage maintenance program. Due to its top down analytical approach, successful MSG-3 implementation will help in cost savings, operational excellence and higher safety standards.

Course Objective

Including detailed discussion on the factors affecting preventive maintenance, the MSG-3 process and techniques in developing MSG-3 based maintenance programmes - this interactive 3-day course benefits its participants to:

  • OPTIMISE their maintenance practices throughout the fleet
  • SAFEGUARD inherent safety and reliability levels of aviation equipment
  • UNDERSTAND the technical and management issuespertinent to MSG-3
  • ELIMINATE inefficient maintenance activities and SIMPLIFY maintenance program to have a more productive and safer fleet
  • SUPPORT and CONDUCT MSG-3 analysis to achieve optimal balance on aircraft’s maintenance/failures costs and availability & safety improvements.
