Event Brief

ICAO has specified that treatment of ice and snow deposits on aircrafts on the ground is an absolute necessity for safe winter operations.  After a series of accidents and incidents in the past years, we finally have now the “ICAO/IATA Global De-Icing/Anti-Icing Standard”, which shall standardize our winter operation around the world. With this step forward, having also the regulators involved, we have the opportunity to improve flight safety under freezing conditions.

Course Objective

This 2-day course will help participants to build strong foundation knowledge of aircraft anti-icing/de-icing. This includes treatment methods, de-icing and anti-icing fluids, procedures, testing, safety requirements, audits and equipment requirements. In addition, there is also presentation on how to create proper de-icing/ anti-icing documentation and training activities (In compliance with the ICAO/IATA Global De-Icing/Anti-Icing Standard, FAA FAR 121.629 Winter Operation Plan and Transport Canada TP 14205).
